第五届科学节:一个可以让小创意成长为大现实的地方


在2023年6月9日,小学部举办了第五届科学节。本次活动中,学生充分展示了他们的努力、奉献力和创造力。

On the 9th of June, 2023, Nanjing Hankai Academy held the 5th annual Science Fair in primary school. The event was a showcase of the students’ hard work, dedication, and creativity.

科学节为小学部的学生发展提供了丰富的营养。在这次活动中,学生们的科学技能、批判性思维、实践经验、对科学的兴趣、创造力、沟通技巧、团队合作力和信心都得到了发展。活动也为学生们提供了交流机会,为孩子们未来的科学事业的发展打下了基础。

Science Fair provides a range of benefits for primary students. During this experience, students develop their scientific skills, encourage critical thinking, provide hands-on experience, increase interest in science, enhance creativity, improve communication skills, build teamwork, provide networking opportunities, increase confidence, and prepare for future scientific careers.



本次比赛的196个参展作品充分展示了学生们的努力和创造力也表现出对科学的热爱和兴奋。这也将激励和鼓励他们成为未来的科学家!

With a total of 196 projects, it was quite a sight to see all of the students’ hard work and creativity on display. The young minds showed engagement and excitement about science. It is a great way to inspire and encourage the next generation of scientists!



学生们提前一个月就开始为这项活动做准备。在这段时间里,他们以小组的形式合作,提出创新的想法,给评委老师们留下了深刻的印象。除此之外,每位学生还都拿到了一份科学日志记录手册来帮助他们以科学的逻辑方法去探究问题。手册能够很好地指导学生记录他们的观察过程、假设过程、实验过程和最终结论。通过遵循科学的方法,学生可以学会批判性且有逻辑性地思考,并对一些科学概念有更深的理解。

To prepare for the big day, students were given a month in advance to work on their projects. During this time, they worked together in teams to come up with innovative ideas that would impress the judges. Besides that, the students were given science journals to help them follow the scientific method. Science journals are an excellent tool for students to record their observations, hypotheses, experiments, and conclusions. By following the scientific method, students can learn to think critically and logically, and develop a deeper understanding of scientific concepts.



老师们和家长们也在这次活动中,给学生提供了大力支持。他们为孩子们提供了完成实验所需的资源,并鼓励他们全情投入。老师们还为学生们的参展项目提供了他们的看法和建议,以帮助他们完善自己的作品。

The teachers and parents were also very supportive of the students. They provided them with the resources they needed to complete their projects and encouraged them to do their best. The teachers also provided the students with feedback on their projects and helped them to refine their ideas.



本届科学节在学校的体育馆举行。活动当天,体育馆好像变成了一个科学博物馆。学生们的作品依次陈列在桌子上,评委老师们可以四处观摩,和学生们进行交流,从而了解他们的作品。学生们的创造力和作品的高质量给评委老师们留下了极其深刻的印象。

Science fair was held in the school’s gym, which was transformed into a science museum for the day. The students’ projects were displayed on tables, and the judges had the opportunity to walk around and talk to the students about their work. The judges were impressed by the students’ creativity and the quality of their projects.



本届科学节的评审标准基于四个关键领域:实验设计、展板设计、英文表达和作品架构。评委们对每一个领域都进行了评估,从而确定学生的作品整体质量。实验设计注重科学方法,培养学生设计和进行科学合理且与课题相关的实验的能力。展板设计评估学生以清晰、有组织和视觉吸引力的方式展示自己作品的能力。英文表达评估学生使用正确的英语语言和语法以清晰、简洁的方式表达科学发现的能力。作品架构主要评估学生作品的整体组织性和连贯性。通过对这四个关键维度的评估,评委老师们能够确定学生项目的整体质量,并提供建设性的反馈,帮助学生提高他们的科学技能和能力。

The judging criteria for the science fair were based on four key areas: experimental design, display board design, oral presentation using English language, and project structure. Each of these areas was evaluated by the judges to determine the overall quality of the student projects.

Experimental design focused on the scientific method and the students’ ability to design and conduct experiments that were scientifically sound and relevant to the topic. Display board design assessed the students’ ability to present their work in a clear, organized, and visually appealing manner. Oral presentation using English language evaluated the students’ ability to communicate their scientific findings in a clear and concise manner using proper English language and grammar. Finally, project structure assessed the overall organization and coherence of the students’ projects. By evaluating these four key areas, the judges were able to determine the overall quality of the student projects and provide constructive feedback to help the students improve their scientific skills and abilities.



科学节当天还有非常多极具吸引力且令人兴奋的科学展示节目。Enas老师的“火焰大师”表演,很好地展示了火的特性和安全的重要性。沈哲炎老师和Steve老师的“宠物展”,以一种很好的方式来帮助学生,认识不同类型的动物和它们的独特特征。Graham老师的“大象牙膏”表演,充分展示了化学反应的特性。Taran老师的“安全电击”节目,是电气安全的重要课程。Gavin老师和Joy老师的“人体解密”节目,则能帮助学生了解自己人体构造和生理机能。总的来说,这些表演对本次科学节而言,可谓是“锦上添花”,充分激发了学生对科学实验的兴趣和积极性。

The science fair shows played on the science fair day were an excellent addition to the event and helped to make the learning experience even more engaging and exciting for the students. The "Fire on Hand" show by T. Enas was a great way to demonstrate the properties of fire and the importance of safety. The "Pets Show" by T. Joe and T. Steve was an excellent way to teach students about different types of animals and their unique characteristics. The "Elephant Toothpaste" show by T. Graham was an exciting experiment that demonstrated the properties of chemical reactions. The "Safe Electric Shock" show by T. Taran was an important lesson in electrical safety, and the "Learn About Your Body" show by T. Gavin and T. Joy was a great way for students to learn about their own anatomy and physiology. Overall, these shows were an excellent way to add to the excitement and learning of the science fair, and helped to inspire students to become more engaged and interested in science.



学生们的参展作品得到了评委老师、校领导以及其他参观者的高度赞扬。作品的质量令人印象深刻,充分反映了学生们的努力付出和奉献,也展示了学生们在平时的科学课程中获得的知识和他们所获得的支持。在作品中,我们可以惊喜地看到孩子们令人印象深刻的创造力、创新能力和对科学的理解。学生们自主学习和以独特而极具吸引力的方式探索科学概念的能力也令评委和其他参观者印象深刻。本届科学节的成功,证明了动手体验式学习的价值,以及科学教育在激励和培养下一代科学家和创新者方面发挥的重要作用。祝贺所有参加本次科学节的学生,以及全力支持本次活动的老师和工作人员们!

The students’ projects were met with high praise from judges, school leaders, and other visitors. The impressive quality of the projects is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the students, as well as the quality of the teaching and support they received. The students’ projects demonstrated an impressive level of creativity, innovation, and scientific understanding, and the judges and other visitors were impressed by the students’ ability to take ownership of their learning and explore scientific concepts in unique and engaging ways. The success of the science fair is a testament to the value of hands-on, experiential learning, and the important role that science education plays in inspiring and preparing the next generation of scientists and innovators. Congratulations to all the students who participated in the science fair, and to the teachers and staff who supported them in their endeavors.

Nanjing Hankai Academy’s 5th annual science fair in primary school was a huge success. The students worked hard, the teachers and parents were supportive, and the judges were impressed by the quality of the projects. The science fair was a great opportunity for the students to showcase their skills and to learn from each other. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next year!
